Aptly is a talent platform that helps students and recent graduates connect with employers. Instead of creating a new application for every job, you create one Aptly profile using your transcript and resume. Aptly uses your courses, grades, projects, work experience, research, activities, and skills to help employers understand what you can do.
Employers use Aptly to find students who match the jobs they are hiring for. When your profile fits what an employer needs, the recruiter can review your information and contact you directly about the role. You may then be invited to an interview, where you can learn more about the company and decide whether the opportunity is right for you.
Your Aptly profile may be considered for internships, co-op placements, summer jobs, research roles, graduate programs, rotational programs, contract positions, and full-time jobs. These opportunities may be in business, technology, engineering, finance, accounting, consulting, sales, marketing, operations, data, software, product, human resources, science, healthcare, government, education, research, and many other areas.
Who can apply
Aptly is open to college students, university students, co-op students, recent graduates, master’s students, MBA students, PhD students, and other people who are starting their careers. You can apply whether you are looking for your first internship, your next co-op placement, a summer job, a research position, or a full-time role after graduation.
You do not need to study a certain subject or come from a specific school. Aptly looks at the full picture of what you have learned and what you can do, including your courses, grades, projects, research, work experience, volunteer work, technical skills, and other accomplishments.
How Aptly works
You begin by uploading your transcript and resume. Aptly uses the information in those documents to create your profile and understand your education, experience, and skills. You only need to provide this information once when you apply.
Employers add the jobs they are hiring for and describe the work, skills, and experience needed for each role. Aptly then compares your profile with those jobs and helps employers find students whose backgrounds appear to be a strong fit.
When an employer is interested in your profile, the recruiter can contact you directly and invite you to interview. You can review the opportunity, learn more about the role, and decide whether you want to continue with the hiring process.
Get considered for jobs you may not find yourself
The name of your program does not show every job you may be able to do. The skills you have built in your classes, projects, research, and work experience may be useful in fields that are different from what you originally planned.
For example, an engineering student may have the problem-solving and analytical skills needed for consulting or finance. A business student may have the research and data skills needed for an operations or analytics role. A science student may have the technical and research experience needed for jobs in healthcare, government, policy, or technology.
Aptly helps employers see these connections so that you can be considered for opportunities based on your full background, not only the title of your degree or the jobs you already know about.
You do not need to apply to every job yourself
Your Aptly profile can be considered for many different opportunities from participating employers. This means you do not need to keep uploading the same transcript, entering the same courses, rewriting the same experience, and completing the same information for every job.
You are not automatically accepting or committing to every role. Aptly simply gives employers a way to find you when your profile matches what they need. When a recruiter contacts you, you can review the job and decide whether you are interested.
What happens after you apply
After you submit your application, Aptly will review your transcript and resume and use them to create your profile. Your profile can then be matched with jobs from participating employers based on your skills, education, experience, and interests.
We may contact you when a role appears to fit your background, when an employer wants to invite you to interview, or when we need more information to complete your profile. Make sure the personal and student email addresses you provide are correct and that you check them regularly.
Joining Aptly does not guarantee an interview or a job offer, because employers still decide who they want to meet and hire. Aptly gives you a better chance to be discovered for jobs that match what you can do, including opportunities you may not have found on your own.
You stay in control
Aptly helps employers discover your profile, but you decide which opportunities you want to pursue. You are never required to accept an interview, continue with a hiring process, or accept a job offer.
When an employer contacts you, you can review the role, ask questions, speak with the recruiter, and decide whether the opportunity fits your goals.
What you need to apply
To create your Aptly profile, you will need your full name, personal email, student email, your most recent transcript, and your current resume. You will also need to agree to Aptly’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use so that your information can be used to create your profile and connect you with relevant employers.
Your transcript can be official or unofficial unless Aptly asks for another version later. Your resume should include your current work experience, projects, activities, research, and skills.
